Generic medicines are an affordable alternative to the costlier, patented, branded medicines. However, vast majority of Indian population still has to spend "out of pocket" on costlier, branded medicines.
Recently, Government of India has initiated the scheme of "Jan Aushadhi Kendra", planned in each district in the country, to provide cheaper generic medicines.
IMA Blood Bank of Uttarakhand took initiative in his regard and opened a Jan Aushadi Kendra at IMA blood bank premises where any one can come and get the generic medicines at very low cost.
The working hours of the jan Aushadi Kendra is 10:00 am to 07:00 pm working days 10:00 am to 02:00 pm on Sundays.
